Dr. Coleman has been nominated for several awards that include: the Outstanding Achievement in Leadership, Rutgers University and the “Male Who Makes a Difference Award” sponsored by the Camden City School District. Dr. Coleman has presented at several regional and national conferences in which he examined the impact of various educational practices instructing students with special needs.

Educator. As former Lead Educator of Special Education in the Camden City School District currently serving as a Vice Principal in the District, Dr. Coleman’s administrative responsibilities include: monitoring, supporting and developing staff instructional learning experiences through targeted, results-oriented professional development experiences, with a focus on co-teaching strategies and special education best practice and supports Principals to train, manage, supervise and coach school-based staff with a focus on providing actionable, concrete feedback.

Leader. As a former special education teacher also in the Camden School District, Dr. Coleman‘s professional responsibilities included: instruction, curriculum development, Individual Educational Plan (IEP) development and implementation, monthly and quarterly reporting, and assessment and evaluation.  In addition, he collaborated regularly with stakeholders that included students, parents, social workers, the Child Study Team and administration to cultivate and promote a school community relationship that infuses ethnic diversification in the school and classroom environment.

Advocate. Dr. Coleman received his B.A. in Education from Rutgers University, M.Ed. from Wilmington University and Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Rowan University. Dr. Coleman completed his dissertation at Rowan University, which is entitled: “Enhancing Teacher Efficacy and Pedagogical Practices Amongst General and Special Education Teachers”.
